| First my eye site is slowly getting better but it is still no way I can write with two eyes so please forgive me for missed spelled any words. I will try my best not to mess of it.
Now let’s get down to business, for the Fleet side of this group.
I myself joined the Army for many reasons. My family has always been in the Military or /and the Ministry. I am VERY proud that I served and so should you all. I respect every one of you, we are all Brothers and Sisters in this.
So I am not ashamed of what we have all done serving and protecting our country and families. I am hoping we can support each other, with some of the leaders, in many countries calling some of our service members “baby killers” and saying bad things, the world media saying much worse things than that. We need to stand together and show everyone what we have done and that we are proud of it. This is just one of the reasons I believe in starting this group.
If you feel the same as I do and that you think we deserve more respite in fleet please stay with us. But if you would like to be removed from this list just e-mail me privately and I will take you off. Second. I feel we need something to show that we did serve in the military. I do not know about you but I cannot afford going out and getting a costume make for every time there is an event in Fleet. I was thinking about Sashes. I am working on what it can look like and I will send everyone a copy. But if anyone has anything else in mine please let me now.

| My sons were the fourth generation that have served in the Armed Forces. They and me are non-commission officers and my father was Colonel and the Grandfather was a two star general. | |

| My Name is The Rev Gerald Purkey, I am Currently the Chief Chaplain, West Coast Sectors, and am a veteran of the US Army. I was a combat flight medic in the 1st of the 214th Avaiation Battalion in Los Alamitos, California, Reserves. When I left service, I was and will always be a Staff Sergeant. I served my time in Panama in 1989 and went to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
Currently, my wife, who I just convinced to join SFI is a Sgt E-5 in the Army National Guard and is a veteran of OIF 3.
We are both VERY proud of our service and I am very proud to say that my wife is going to be a LIFER...LOL
I look forward to working with the Vets in this organization.

Rev Lt. Gerald Purkey Lt Thanks for serving our great country. Let me extended a warm "welcome home from country" and thanks for serving. In my war I didn't get that thankful greeting when I come home. I was told to sneak back in civilian uniform and do our nothing I was military. | |
